Our 2019 Best Small Fictions Nominations

best small fictions nominations

The Best Small Fictions is the first contemporary anthology dedicated to the best internationally published short hybrid fiction under 1000 words each year. For six years, Best Small Fictions has published the best flash fiction, micro fiction, prose poetry, and haibun stories from authors around the world. Literary magazine editors can submit five pieces of flash and micro fiction to The Best Small Fictions for consideration.

Capsule Stories nominated the following five pieces for the Best Small Fictions 2020 anthology. It’s always hard to choose selections, but we nominated these lovely short stories/prose poems.

“Mercy, Hand to Hand” by Hannah Davis Madonna, Summer 2019 Edition

“Origin poem I didn’t want.” by Natalie E. Illum, Summer 2019 Edition

“Comes the Sleep” by Glenn A. Bruce, Autumn 2019 Edition

“Fire on the Mesa” by Otis Fuqua, Winter 2019 Edition

“And One More Thing” by Akhim Alexis, Winter 2019 Edition

Thank you as always to all our contributors for sending us their work and allowing us to publish it.
